Have you already bought your plane tickets and made your hotel reservation? No less important is travel medical insurance, as you never know what situations will arise while you are away from home. Therefore, whether you are going on a family vacation, visiting friends or on a business trip, with a medical policy you will know that you can benefit from free medical services in the event of an accident or any other event that affects your health.

The insurance is valid on the territory of the country indicated in the document and it covers expenses in cases of: sudden acute illness, injuries and mutilations caused by an accident, exacerbation of a chronic disease or death of the insured person as a result of an accident or a sudden illness. Even if the treatment is more expensive than the policy, these are still covered by the insurer. According to the contract, the insured person will receive compensation for:

  • medical expenses for outpatient treatment and hospitalization;
  • medicines recommended by the doctor;
  • repatriation costs (including in the event of death);
  • emergency dental care, the price of which does not exceed 150 euros;
  • first aid services, up to 500 euros, in the event of acute exacerbation of chronic diseases.

Medical insurance can be valid for a period of one day to one year. It is valid from the date indicated in the contract, but comes into force at the moment of crossing the border of the Republic of Moldova. The insurance can be in a single-entry regime, which means that it expires upon returning to the country, once the border is crossed. The multiple-entry option is also available, which provides protection for any trip made during a certain period of time. Each person will choose the desired type according to their own needs.
